Juvéderm ULTRA is a range of smooth consistency gels which are injected to restore volume, fill fine lines, wrinkles and redefine lips. The smooth consistency is due to its advanced formulation. Unlike other fillers, Juvéderm ULTRA is not granular which means it flows easily into the skin and does not cause lumpiness or bumps. Juvéderm ULTRA contains a local anaesthetic, Lidocaine, which helps make the treatment process comfortable.
Juvéderm ULTRA comes in three formulations for more natural-looking, customisable results.
Juvéderm ULTRA 2 Erases moderate lines, especially those around the lips and corners of the eyes and those very close to the surface of the skin.
Juvéderm ULTRA 3 Smoothes wrinkles between the nose and corner of the mouth and around lips. It can be used very subtly to plump out lips in order to maintain a youthful smile.
Juvéderm ULTRA 4 Works on the most noticeable folds and lines, and improves the contour of the face.
What happens?
Treatment with Juvéderm ULTRA can be completed in as little as 15 minutes but it can be longer depending on which areas are being treated.
Using a very fine needle, our doctor injects the Juvéderm ULTRA under the surface of the skin - at shallow levels for fine lines and slightly deeper for more severe wrinkles and folds.
Will the treatment be uncomfortable?
Not only is Juvéderm ULTRA smooth flowing so that it can be injected easily and evenly but it contains lidocaine to help reduce any discomfort during the treatment and the effects of treatment are apparent immediately.
How long do the effects last?
The duration of effect can depend on age, how much filler is injected, where it is placed, the quality of the skin as well as general health and lifestyle. With the Juvéderm ULTRA range, however, the beneficial effects can be expected to last for up to one year after treatment.
What are the side effects?
Following the injection, there may be some redness, swelling and bruising around the injection site. These effects are mild and resolve in 1-2 days.
